E-Bike Share Expansion

Thanks to Clean Mobility Buffalo, Reddy+  is available at Reddy Bikeshare’s East Side stations. Put on your helmet and start riding! E-bikes provide an efficient and eco-friendly mode of transportation, allowing riders to cover longer distances with less effort. The electric assist helps users overcome physical limitations, making cycling accessible to a broader demographic and promoting a healthier lifestyle.

Based on community feedback, Reddy is identifying East Side expansion stations at key locations, including  NFTA Metro Rail stations, bus stops, parks, businesses, and community centers. The Reddy team is assessing potential station sites based on safety, space, and proximity to existing stations before seeking approval from local partners. 

This Reddy Bikeshare expansion holds the potential to deliver extensive advantages to communities on the East Side, providing enhanced connectivity, cost savings, and additional short-distance mobility options for a diverse range of users. The success of the program will be measured by increased e-bike usage, reduced demand for local car trips, and overall community satisfaction, fostering a positive feedback cycle that may spur further demand for improved bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure in the East Side.

In conjunction with this project, Reddy Bikeshare, in partnership with Independent Health, is launching a discounted annual pass program for East Side residents. The East Side Forward Pass costs $3 per year and is available to adults living on Buffalo’s East Side. Folks with the pass can unlock a Reddy Bike for $0.01 per minute and unlock a Reddy+ Bike for $0.10 per minute.
